La PAAC
We are a non-profit organization that oversees the social cohesion and professionalism of the group of visual artists.
Our axes of work are the fight for a fair professionalization and for the good practices to be a reality in all the working people of the sector of the contemporary art. In addition, we promote actions that put art at the center of public debate. We firmly believe in the contemporary artist's commitment to the world around him and also that art is an essential tool for understanding and expressing the world today.
On the other hand, we carry out a task of dialogue and intermediation between artists and institutions and provide legal and tax advice, as well as a continuing education program for members.
Thus, our goals are:
- Cohesive artistic practices and represent them
- Identify all those issues that affect artists in terms of their moral and patrimonial, ethical, labor and economic rights
- Fight for their social recognition and their contribution (economic, intangible), within society
- Claim the full democratization of work and the cultural worker. Combat job insecurity in the sector and encourage proposals aimed at improving and regulating tax, salary, legal, administrative and contractual, with special emphasis on the reality of the self-employed and the associative reality
- Ensure fair professionalism
- Request and reinforce dialogue with the various public administrations and with agents, institutions, entities and bodies, whether public or private, that have a link with the artistic field.
- Promote necessary work and research to create frameworks for ethical functioning and innovation in the visual arts
- Provide services to members
